Scott E. Schachter, OD 

Dr. Schachter has been in practice since 1989. He attended the Southern California College of Optometry where he received the Homer A. Nielson Award for outstanding clinical skills. Dr. Schachter's emphasis was in the area of "hard to fit" contact lens patients.  Dr. Schachter evaluated "idealeyes" from 1997 to the Spring of 2010, which allowed him to be without glasses or contact lenses during all waking hours. He is one of just 9 worldwide FDA clinical investigators chosen to evaluate the latest "idealeyes" design.  In 2010, he underwent LASIK.  

Dr. Schachter is one of the only glaucoma-certified optometrists in California. His office is outfitted with the latest technology for treatment of glaucoma and dry eye syndrome.  Along with being a progressive doctor, Dr. Schachter is always on the forefront of medical progress and prides his practice on keeping up with the latest lens technology. 

Dr. Schachter and his family live in Arroyo Grande. He enjoys Crossfit Inferno and frequently enters cycling events throughout California.

  Audrey DeGhionno, Billing Specialist    

Audrey has been working with Dr. Schachter for over 13 years. She is knowledgable in all aspects of insurance billing as well as opticianry. She enjoys spending time with her husband during her free time.

  Vanessa Lafranchi, Optometric Technician    

Vanessa has been working with Dr. Schachter for over 6 years. She is experienced with our testing equipment and is knowledgable in contact lens care.  She enjoys spending time with her husband and her sister during her free time.

  Cassandra Kulda, Optician  

Cassie has worked with Dr. Schachter since 2007. 

  Allyson Flores, Optometric Assistant   

Allyson joined Advanced Eyecare in 2009.  When she's not assisting Vanessa with patient care, you can find her at the front desk. Allyson is a member of the Five Cities Roller Kitties, the area's first and only roller derby team.

  Alicia Pruitt, Optician   

Alicia joins our team with 10 years experience in the field of opticianry. She is knowledgable in frame and lens selection as well as dispensing and troubleshooting.  She recently relocated to the Central Coast , and enjoys spending time with her family.
